IGCSE & Sixth Form

Our Higher Secondary Department (Key Stage 4 and Sixth Form: Years 10–13) represents the culmination of our students’ school journey – an exciting stage where academic specialisation, personal maturity, and future aspirations come together. At Edison International Academy, Aspire, we are committed to guiding students through these important years with high expectations, expert teaching, and dedicated support that prepares them for university, careers, and life beyond school.

A Rigorous and World-Recognised Curriculum

In Years 10 and 11, students follow the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum through Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel. A wide range of subjects – including English, Mathematics, the Sciences, ICT, Business Studies, Global Perspectives, Art & Design, Physical Education, and more – allows students to pursue pathways that suit their interests, strengths, and future goals.
For Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13), students advance to AS and A Level qualifications, recognised by leading universities worldwide. These courses develop deep subject mastery, strong analytical thinking, and independent study skills that ensure our graduates remain competitive on a global stage.

Learning That Inspires Excellence

eaching and learning at this stage focus on academic challenge, intellectual curiosity, and high-level skill development. Students are encouraged to
  • Think critically and evaluate information
  • Develop strong research and analytical skills
  • Take ownership of their learning
  • Engage in academic discussions and debate
  • Produce extended writing and complex problem-solving tasks
Our teachers support students not only in mastering subject content but also in developing the resilience, discipline, and academic habits required for success in higher education.

University and Career Pathway Guidance

Sixth Form students receive structured support as they prepare for life after school. This includes:
  • University counselling and application support
  • Guidance on international admissions requirements
  • Career exploration workshops
  • Personal statement writing
  • Interview preparation
Whether students aim to study in Qatar, the UK, Europe, North America, or elsewhere, we help them make informed choices and present themselves confidently to future institutions.

Assessment and Academic Tracking

Students undergo continuous assessment through quizzes, coursework, practical experiments, mock exams, and end-of-unit tests. Regular feedback ensures students understand their progress and areas for improvement.
In preparation for external examinations, we also conduct formal mock exams that simulate real exam conditions and help guide revision strategies.

Beyond the Classroom: Enrichment and Leadership

Our students in the Higher Secondary can access a broad range of activities that enrich their educational experience and build character, including:
  • Debates and Model UN
  • STEM challenges and science fairs
  • School leadership roles and prefect programmes
  • Volunteer and community initiatives
  • Cultural activities and national celebrations
These opportunities encourage confidence, initiative, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility – qualities essential for flourishing in adulthood.

Preparing Graduates for a Global Future

By the end of Sixth Form, our students have developed the academic excellence, independence, and global awareness needed for university and beyond. Equipped with internationally recognised qualifications and the personal qualities of responsible global citizens, they leave Edison Aspire ready to succeed in a world outside the classroom.
